Humanity Protocol, a Hong Kong-based blockchain identity network, has launched its mainnet with a $1.1 billion valuation, positioning itself as a privacy-focused rival to Sam Altman's Worldcoin. The protocol leverages zero-knowledge transport LAYER security (zkTLS) to enable users to verify credentials without exposing sensitive data, addressing privacy concerns associated with biometric systems like iris scanning.

Backed by $20 million in funding from Jump crypto and Pantera Capital, the startup aims to create a seamless bridge between Web2 loyalty programs—such as airline status—and decentralized Web3 applications. Its technology ensures data never leaves the user's browser, offering a portable reputation layer for cross-platform use.

Future plans include expanding node infrastructure, integrating financial and professional credentials, and venturing into on-chain ticketing. "Our mainnet turns decentralized identity into practical infrastructure," said CEO Terence Kwok, signaling a push for broader adoption.
